While in New York, we visited the American Museum Of Natural History Museum located on Central Park West at 79th street. We were so excited to visit this MASSIVE museum and to see where "The Night At The Museum" was filmed !! The Museum includes 45 halls plus the Rose center for earth and space. Some of the most popular halls and the ones that my kids really enjoyed were the African Mammals, Asian Mammals, Birds of the World and The Dinosaur Wing. While your there try to catch some of the Exhibitions !! We let the kids pick which 3 they thought they would like to see the most. The Butterfly Conservatory ~ This is a neat exhibit where you walk into a large (very warm) room with butterflies flying throughout the room and some even land on you ! This one decided to land on the doll's head ! Journey to the Stars ~ Is a theater experience created by the Museum’s astrophysicists and is narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. This is an amazing show that offers lights and sounds that younger children will love
Whales: Giants of the Deep ~ This exhibit showcases the biology and evolution of these creatures and offers visitors a glimpse into the past ! Plan to spend all day at the museum and one quick tip...Eat before you go in if you can. They do offer a cafeteria but is quite expensive and very congested during peak hours.
